Terms of service

The deal, in plain words.

These terms are the agreement between you and SnapHost when you use the service. We have kept them short and readable on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask us.

Who you are dealing with

SnapHost is run by SnapHost ehf.. When these terms say "we", "us" or "SnapHost", they mean this company. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.

SnapHost ehf.

What SnapHost is

SnapHost turns a document or a built site into a live website at a link you control. You can publish from the dashboard, or let an AI tool you connect over MCP publish and update pages on your behalf. A page can be public, or private to people you name, who verify their email to open it. You can update a page in place, take it offline, and delete it whenever you like.

Your account

You need an account to publish. Keep your sign-in details and any API tokens to yourself, and tell us at once if you think someone else has them. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what a connected AI tool publishes with it. You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live. If you use SnapHost for a company or another organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.

Workspaces

Every account has a personal space, which is free and yours alone. A workspace is a shared space you create for a project or a team. The person who creates a workspace is its owner and is responsible for its bill and for the people they invite. Owners, admins and members can publish and are paid members on the Pro plan. Viewers only open what is shared with them and are never paid for.

Plans and payment

There are two plans. Free costs nothing and comes with the limits shown on the pricing page. Pro is billed per paid member per month, at the price shown on the pricing page when you subscribe. Adding a paid member adds them to the bill from that day. Removing one takes them off it. A workspace may have up to 100 paid members on its own; larger teams are set up by hand under separate terms.

A Pro subscription renews every month until it is cancelled. Payment is taken by our payment provider from the card or wallet you give it. We never see or store your full card number. Prices do not include any VAT or other tax that applies to you. If we change a price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you.

If a payment fails, you keep your paid features for 7 days while you update your card. After that the subscription is cancelled and the workspace falls back to the Free limits. Nothing is deleted when that happens.

Cancelling

You can cancel a Pro subscription at any time by closing its workspace from the workspace settings, next to the plan and billing tab. Closing a workspace cancels its subscription right away, so you are not charged again. It also permanently deletes the workspace, its pages and its members, so download anything you want to keep first. Whether any of the current month is refunded is set out in our refund policy.

Your content

Everything you publish stays yours. So does anything your pages collect, such as form answers and sign-ups. You give us the permission we need to host it: to store it, make copies for backups and delivery, and show it to the people you have chosen to share it with, for as long as it is on SnapHost. We use your content for nothing else. We do not train AI models on it, and we do not use it for advertising.

You are responsible for having the right to publish what you publish, and for whatever your pages collect from the people who open them. Where your pages gather personal data about your visitors, you decide why it is collected and we process it for you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use SnapHost to publish or do any of the following:

  • Anything that is illegal where you are or where it is opened.
  • Malware, phishing pages, or anything built to steal credentials, payment details or personal data.
  • Content you do not have the right to publish, including other people's work and private information.
  • Content that sexualises children, or that harasses, threatens or incites harm.
  • Spam, deceptive pages, or pages that impersonate a person or an organisation.
  • Anything that attacks, overloads or probes SnapHost or the sites of other customers, or that gets around plan limits, rate limits or the sandbox pages run in.
  • Reselling SnapHost as your own hosting service without our written agreement.

Taking content down

If a page breaks these rules, or we receive a credible legal complaint about it, we may take it offline or remove it. We may also suspend or close an account that keeps breaking the rules. We tell you when we do this, and why, unless the law stops us or telling you would put other people at risk.

Privacy

How we handle personal data, both yours and that of the people who open your pages, is set out in our privacy policy. It is part of these terms.

The service as it is

We work hard to keep SnapHost up, fast and safe, and we describe what we do on the security page. But we cannot promise it will never be down or never have a fault, so the service is provided as it is and as it is available. We may change or retire features, and we may change the limits of the Free plan. If a change would make SnapHost materially worse for something you pay for, we tell you first.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms or the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost data you did not keep a copy of, or lost business. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using SnapHost whenever you like. Delete your pages, close any workspaces you own, and close your account from the account page. We may end the agreement with you if you break these terms and do not put it right after we ask, or for any other reason with 30 days' notice. When the agreement ends your pages go offline and your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy, except where we must keep records to meet a legal obligation.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as SnapHost changes. If a change matters to you, we give at least 14 days' notice by email or in the dashboard before it takes effect, and we update the date at the top of this page. Using SnapHost after that date means you accept the new terms. If you do not, close your account before the change takes effect.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Iceland. Any dispute we cannot settle between us goes to Héraðsdómur Reykjaness, the district court for Garðabær. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may bring a claim in its courts.
