Changelog
What's new in SnapHost.
A running log of everything we ship, from brand new capabilities to the small fixes that make the product feel right.
- v1.14NewOctober 2026
Auto-refresh on update
- A new per-site setting, Auto-refresh on update, moves anyone who has the site open to the new version the moment you publish it. Left off, as before, they see a small “A new version is available” prompt and refresh when they choose.
- Meant for dashboards, status pages and anything a team keeps open on a screen. It stays off by default, because a reader partway through a long document should not have the page move under them.
- Turn it on from the site’s Advanced settings, from an agent with set_render_options (auto_refresh), or from the API.
- v1.13NewOctober 2026
A React component runs as a page
- Drop in a single .tsx or .jsx, the file an AI hands you from a chat (a Claude artifact, a ChatGPT canvas, a v0 export), and it opens as a working page. SnapHost compiles it when you publish, bundles in the libraries it imports and generates the Tailwind styles it uses, so the page carries everything it needs.
- A component may import react, react-dom, recharts, lucide-react, d3, framer-motion and the @radix-ui/react-* primitives, each at one pinned version. Anything else is refused by name, the page loads nothing from anywhere, and it runs in the same sandbox as every other site.
- A .tsx or .jsx without a default export is a code listing, as before.
- v1.12NewOctober 2026
Mermaid diagrams
- Drop in a .mmd or .mermaid file and it opens as a picture. Flowcharts, sequence diagrams and class diagrams are drawn to SVG when you publish, fit the window, and open at full size on a click; the SVG and the text behind it are both there to download.
- The drawing is made on our side, from the text, with nothing of Mermaid running in a reader’s browser: the page carries no diagram code and loads nothing from anywhere else. A diagram that cannot be read is refused with the line that stopped it, so nothing half-drawn is ever published.
- Other Mermaid diagram types are not drawn yet; the publish says so and names the type.
- v1.11NewOctober 2026
Word, PowerPoint, Excel and more
- Drop in a .docx, a .pptx or an .xlsx and it opens as a real page. A Word file becomes a readable document; a deck is paged through with a grid and full screen; a workbook keeps its sheets, frozen headers, merged cells and the numbers formatted the way they were set.
- CSV and TSV files, single images, video and audio, and text or code files (JSON, YAML, Python, TypeScript and the rest) get a viewer of their own too.
- A Word, PowerPoint or Excel file stays off the page unless you choose to let readers download it, because it holds what the page never shows: speaker notes, hidden slides, sheets, rows and columns, formulas, comments and tracked changes; a site that offers its file can stop doing so from its page, without another upload. A CSV, image, video, audio or text file is its page and travels with it; a Markdown file or notebook becomes its page and has no download. A link to a deck or workbook carries the slide or sheet it was copied on. Everything renders once, at publish time, inside the same sandbox as before.
- v1.10ImprovedSeptember 2026
Personal space and workspaces
- Your free personal space is just you. A Pro workspace is where a project lives: its own handle and subdomain, drives, people if you want them, and its own invoice. Create one per project, and switch between them from the top of the sidebar.
- What we used to call a team is now a workspace, because one person can have one, and one person can have several. The people in it are still members, admins and viewers.
- Old links to the Team pages keep working; they now open the workspace pages.
- v1.9ImprovedSeptember 2026
Pro comes as its own workspace
- Your personal account is free, always. Pro is for you alone or a whole team: choosing it sets up your Pro workspace, with you as its first paid member, so one person is never paid for twice.
- A team is where the handle, name, logo, members and one invoice live. Being a paid member of someone else’s team costs your personal account nothing.
- Already on Pro with a personal account? You keep it, and its price, for as long as you like. Once you move to Free that account cannot return to Pro; create a workspace instead.
- v1.8ImprovedSeptember 2026
Two plans: Free and Pro, priced per member
- Pro is €19 per member per month: your own subdomain, folder routing, member roles, and 5 GB of data storage.
- A team is billed for the people who can publish. Inviting a member adds a seat that day, prorated; removing one takes it off. No more buying seats ahead.
- A new viewer role: invite as many people as you like to open what is shared with them, for free.
- Workspaces on the old Organization plan are moved to Pro: the same workspace, at €19 per member instead of €25.
- Organisations that need a data-processing agreement, a security review, their own domain or one annual invoice can contact us for Enterprise: a fixed platform fee plus Pro seats.
- v1.7NewJune 2026
SnapHost Data: a backend for your sites
- Published pages can now save and read data with no server, through the injected window.SNAPHOST SDK.
- Build contact forms, waitlists, RSVPs, guestbooks, counters, and leaderboards straight from your HTML.
- Define a structure for each collection, browse and moderate entries, and control who can read them.
- Manage it all from your AI assistant over MCP, or from the Data tab. Available on Pro.
- v1.6NewJune 2026
Teams, shared drives, and per-member sharing
- Create a team workspace with its own private-by-default drive, kept separate from your personal space.
- Organize sites into folders on a shared drive, with viewer access that members inherit.
- Share a folder or a single site with specific teammates, and manage roles from one place.
- Every team gets its own subdomain, like acme.snaphost.ai, and a single invoice for all seats.
- v1.5NewJune 2026
Connect your AI in one click
- Every site now has a Connect panel with a single command to wire up your assistant.
- A guided OAuth flow authorizes your assistant in the browser and points it at the MCP endpoint for you.
- Install the SnapHost plugin for Claude Code and say /snaphost:publish or /snaphost:update instead of explaining the tools each time.
- v1.4NewMay 2026
Bring your own domain on Pro
- Bind a domain you own, like deck.acme.com or yoursite.com, to any published site instead of sites.snaphost.ai.
- Your domain stays live across updates, so links never change.
- TLS is provisioned and renewed automatically the moment you connect a domain.
- v1.3NewApril 2026
Let your AI publish through MCP
- Connect the SnapHost MCP server so an assistant can create and update sites on its own.
- Anyone already viewing a site is told a new version is available, one click on Refresh away.
- Scoped API tokens for scripted publishing from any pipeline.
- v1.2ImprovedMarch 2026
Wildcard sharing and a clearer access log
- Allow a whole team with a wildcard like *@acme.com.
- The access log now separates requested, verified, viewed, and denied events.
- Faster live previews on the site detail page.
- v1.1FixedFebruary 2026
Sharper rendering and tighter sandboxing
- Hardened the rendering sandbox so pages stay fully isolated.
- Resolved a case where large bundles could be slow to first paint.
- Improved email deliverability for viewer verification.
- v1.0NewJanuary 2026
SnapHost is live
- Turn any HTML, Markdown, or web bundle into a private, authenticated site.
